Information on features released in September 2020
September's release included two major changes to Studio. We overhauled the Rules view with the significant outcome being that you can now do more editing of your script in that view. We also made some improvements to how Studio processes the script text that gets pasted into the Setup view. Lots more detail below.
More Script Editing Features in the Rules view
You’re now able to make changes to your script easier and quicker without leaving the Rules View. More details below!
Also - when you load up a script that already has text in it, Studio will take you directly to the Rules view.
Text editing directly in the Rules view
It's now possible to achieve the following without leaving the Rules view:- type to add new lines
- paste in new lines
- edit existing lines
- delete lines from a section
Existing features are more intuitive and accessible:
- you can now drag & drop either Lines or Sections
- we've expanded the right side to allow more space for editing
- the name of each section is editable via the pencil icon on the left side. For non-dynamic sections, editing the section name actually edits the text on the line itself.
Names of dynamic sections also appear on the Flow Diagram on the Analytics page so you can take the opportunity to provide a sensible name here.
- you can change the Element Type of a section (Voice, Video, SFX, Bed etc) by clicking on the icon next to the section name in the Summary on the left side
- adding a new section is now more prominent - the icon to do so is always visible at the bottom of the Summary on the left side
- deleting sections is also done in the Summary - once you click on the pencil button for editing section names, you'll see a "Trash" icon
- Impression Trackers, Companion Images and Click-Through URLs now appear separate to the rest of the script at the bottom of the Summary
Improved processing of pasted Script text
Studio is now more sophisticated when processing text that is pasted into the Setup page. Information on a few things to keep in mind when writing personalised scripts so that they are easy to work with inside Studio is available here.
